Below are the estimated costs for utilizing a Gestational Carrier. These are actual fees. An escrow account is held to provide the Carrier security with the reimbursement which she expects to receive for carrying the baby to term. 

Gestational Surrogate Base Fee: $29,000.00 -$35,000.00 & More. 

This compensation is paid to the carrier, via the escrow account, in installments over the course of the pregnancy beginning with the confirmation of pregnancy (confirmation of heartbeat at approximately six (6) weeks of pregnancy, via ultrasound). 

Monthly Allowance - $250 / month. 

Non-accountable monthly expense allowance to cover expenses. Paid In lieu of itemized costs, this allowance includes reimbursements for mileage under One Hundred (100) miles round trip, telephone calls, postage, faxes, non-prescription vitamins/supplements, childcare services, and other incidental expenses.  This fee shall begin the 1st of the month after the contract has been executed between the surrogate and the Prospective Parents and continue until either termination of the contract by either party or 1 month after delivery.

Other Travel Expenses.

Airfare, rental cars, and lodging may be paid when a carrier is required to travel more than One Hundred (100) miles for medical screening or embryo transfers. Prospective Parents shall reimburse Surrogate for Travel Expenses only in connection with the following: (i) the screening process (including Husband/Partner); (ii) the matching process (including Husband/Partner); (iii) the embryo transfer procedure; (iv) delivery/birth; (v) legal proceedings Prospective Parents have requested Surrogate and Husband to attend; and (vi) trips exceeding 100 miles (round trip) required by the IVF Physician or the Obstetrician or requested by Prospective Parents. 

Maternity Clothing Allowance - $850.00 (singleton). 

Maternity Clothing Allowance - $1,000.00 (multiples). 

This fee is paid at twelve (10 and 12) weeks and directly to the carrier through the escrow account. 

Start of Medications fee - $500-$750. 

Upon starting injectible medications typically Lupron. 

Mock Cycle fee - $500-$750.

Some Reproductive Endocrinologists (RE) will require a mock cycle to stimulate a cycle to test for the thickening of uterine lining.

Dropped/Cancelled Cycle - $500.

Ordered by the IVF doctor or if Prospective Parents cancel cycle.

Embryo Transfer fee -$850.

This fee is paid to compensate the carrier for discomfort and risk associated with the procedure.

Invasive Procedure fee – $500-$1,500 (per procedure).

D&C, Abortion/Termination (as applicable)

Cerclage (as applicable)   

Amniocentesis or CVS (as applicable)

Fetal Reduction (as applicable)

Ectopic (Tubal) Pregnancy (as applicable) -$800.

C-Section fee - $1,500-$2,500.

If the carrier is required to deliver via c-section, as required by OB or requested by Prospective Parents

Multiples - $4,000 per additional child.

Beginning the first day of the 14th week after the date of the embryo transfer.

Hysterectomy - $5,000. 

Surrogate will be entitled to receive $5,000 if she must undergo a hysterectomy, resulting in

the loss of her uterus, as a result of the delivery of the Child, as long as such procedure(s) are performed within 3 months of the delivery.

If one or both tubes are removed - $2,000.00.

Additional to ectopic (tubal) surgery compensation

Housekeeping Allowance - $100 per week.

Optional weekly allowance, not to exceed $100 per week beginning on the 1st day of the 3rd trimester of pregnancy and ending 3 weeks after delivery of a child.

Medical Restrictions;

Housekeeping Allowance - $10/hr up to $100 per week.

If Obstetrician/IVF Physician confirms in writing that Surrogate is unable to perform normal housekeeping chores. Housekeeping Expenses shall not exceed $10 per hour or $100 per week.

Childcare Expenses – $10/hr up to $100 per day.

If Obstetrician/IVF Physician confirms in writing that Surrogate is unable to care for the daily needs of her child (ren). Childcare Expenses shall not exceed $10 per hour or $100 per day.
